On eof the glorious views from Mountain View Manor

The Makana Edutourism Project's Spring Member's event had a successful turnout at Mountain View Manor guesthouse, the majestic lone building that overlooks the N2, on Thursday 20 September 2012.

The Mountain View Manor guesthouse, is a relatively unknown gem in the City of Grahamstown, and boasts tranquil "earthy'' toned rooms with wide airy spaces and high ceilings. The Manor was a fitting venue for the guest speaker, Professor Hugo Nel, who gave a riveting presentation on the history of Grahamstown's architecture and unique buildings to an audience of 30 members. Professor Nel, has an in-depth and passionate knowledge of architecture, and is the Past Chairman of the Simon van der Stel Foundation for Architectural Conservation (EC Branch) and a Past member of the Heritage Committee of the Eastern Cape Institute of Architecture.

The Mountain View Manor provided the perfect back drop with views that over looked the twinkling lights of the night sky of Grahamstown, and a truly delightful and informative evening over delicious light snacks and drinks was had by all!
